All You Need Is Love
July 29, 2006

I had a mother-load of hits on my blog today, which is quite interesting considering I don’t really promote it.  Honestly, besides obvious people who spy on me, as well as Ray and JPB, I don’t know that you are reading it.  I have a suspicion that other Fringe performers are reading this.  I know [...]

Audition: What the Fringe Is All About
July 28, 2006

I’ve been advised by people close to me that my attacks on Unsympathetic Bill are not making me look good.  I will say that I did it more as a joke than anything else and to have fun with bad reviews.  I will take it under consideration, though.
My TJ poster has been a big hit.  [...]

TJ Dawe Has Not Seen Rebel Without a Niche
July 26, 2006

First of all, thank you for all the support that I’ve gotten from friends on Myspace, as well as friends and fans who have commented on the CBC review.
It’s really nice, especially when I have to deal with assholes like Bill.
Who’s Bill?  I don’t know him personally, but here’s his comment that he wrote responding [...]

The Flow
July 23, 2006

It sure is interesting how things ebb and flow.  After all the depressing blogs you’ve been reading from me, I finally have a good one!  A really, really good one!
Last night’s 10:45pm show was a blast!  I did indeed hand out twenty free tickets during the day, and I had over fifty people there.  People [...]

Cover Boy
July 22, 2006

Yesterday my picture was on the cover of the Winnipeg Free Press!  That’s one of the two big daily papers here in the city.  It’s not really free.  It’s a buck.  I went into a news store and purchased two copies.  I asked the clerk, “Do I get a discount because I’m on the cover?”
He [...]

Extra! Extra! Read All About It! I’m Boring!
July 21, 2006

So I’m sitting in a coffee shop amidst the main Fringe neighborhood. I’m really working on getting it together.  I want to take better care of myself, stand up straight, get the show rocking…
I happen to pick up a free weekly that just came out today called “Uptown.”  They have an article about the Fringe [...]

Phil the Void
July 20, 2006

Tonight I saw my buddy Phil van Hest’s solo show Fill The Void; Nature Abhors a Vacuum.  Someone after the show asked me, “You’re American.  Were you offended?”  No.  “Well, what if that was a Canadian saying those things?”  No.  We criticize our government as well, and I don’t really think Phil will be fleeing [...]

Tit Man Doesn’t Live Here Anymore
July 18, 2006

I thought today was the Fringe Free-For-All in which, for two hours, performers do two minutes from their show or some kind of live commercial for their show for an adoring (one hopes) crowd from an outdoor stage.  I actually haven’t decided whether or not I’ll do it.
Anyway, it’s tomorrow.  Today is my media thing-a-ma-jig.  [...]

The Winnipeg Express
July 17, 2006

Thirty-one hours on a train is not as bad as it sounds.  I think I thought it would be a lot worse.  Maybe I’m a masochist.
I had never taken a train other than the subway and the LIE, so this was a new experience.  There was a guy who looked and sounded like the old [...]
